"Love Thy Neighbor"
"Be My Neighbor"
Jesus repeatedly commanded his followers to "Love your Neighbor as yourself." Paul summarized the point well in Galatians: "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" And it was how John taught to Church to test false prophets and identify the spirits from God and those that were antichrist (1 John 4: 8-21).
When Jesus was asked, "who is my neighbor," He told the parable of the Good Samaritan, using a foreigner - considered an unclean heretic and outcast to the Jews of Jesus' time - to answer the question of who their neighbor was.
Our closing ads series asks Christians to ask which candidate understands and follows the central question Christ, Paul, and John said the Church must use as it wrestled with the question of who to trust and what our witness will become.
"Neighbor"
"It's the knowing that we can be trusted, that we never have to fear the truth, that deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive: Love that conquerors hate. Peace that rises triumphant over war. And, justice that proves more powerful than greed. Because deep down we know that what matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win too. I wish you the strength and the grace to make those choices which will allow you and your neighbor to become the best of whoever you are." - Fred Rogers

Carly shares how she was a "youth group kid" in high school and was bullied for openly expressing her Christian faith. But when her teacher, Mr. Walz, saw it happening, he put a stop to the bullying. And then Tim Walz took the time to pull Carly aside and encourage her to always be herself and never fear sharing the things that mattered most in her life, like her faith. That experience helped inspire Carly to become a public school teacher who was recently named "Teacher of the Year" in her Texas school district.
